Hendersonville Rescue Mission serves meals to the public and provides shelter, guidance, education, support and hope to those looking to better their lives. The daily meal program offers three meals a day to anyone who is hungry. Like the emergency shelter program, it’s available every day of the week. The drop-in day center is open Monday through Friday, along with our community-partnered Good Samaritan medical clinic. In addition to emergency overnight shelter, HRM offers a variety of long-term housing readiness programs to help guests secure employment, save and budget resources, and then obtain housing. They are dedicated to assisting those who are ready to commit to doing what it takes to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. These programs are available to people who reside in our primary service area, which consists of Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties. All shelter guests need to be medically stable, ambulatory, and able to care for their own bodily needs. HRC is not a medical assistance facility, nor a behavioral healthcare treatment facility. If their services are not a good match for someone’s needs, they are happy to assist with referrals to facilities where they can receive appropriate levels of care.
