Public transportation is provided by Apple Country Public Transit. Commercial ride-share services like Lyft and Uber also are available in and around Hendersonville.

Offering commercial air service flights, Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) is located 10 miles north of Hendersonville at Exit 40 on I-26. Served by six airlines (Allegiant, American, Delta, jetBlue, Sun Country and United), travelers can reach any destination in the world. AVL offers 25 nonstop-flight destinations, including frequent daily flights to major international hubs. The airport features close parking, easy check-in, free Wi-Fi and a Guest Services Center. Additional amenities include a full-service restaurant and bar, gift shop, art gallery and business center. The airport is also served by several car-rental agencies. Ground transportation is available to and from the airport. AVL has been one of the fastest-growing small hub airports in the country since 2017.

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is located off I-85 at Exit 57 between Greenville and Spartanburg in South Carolina, not far from Western North Carolina. Seven major airlines – Allegiant, American, Contour, Delta, Silver, Southwest and United – serve GSP by offering more than 100 daily flights to 21 nonstop destinations with one-stop connections to hundreds of cities across the globe.

Founded in 1932, Hendersonville Airport has 3,075 feet of paved and lighted runway capable of handling a wide range of aircraft. Airport services are provided by Aerolina, Inc., and include aircraft storage, maintenance and fuel.

A public service of Henderson County operated by WNCSource Transportation Services, Apple Country Public Transit provides bus service throughout Henderson County from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. With more than 100 stops on its Red, White and Blue hourly routes, Apple Country’s 17-passenger CNG-powered buses carry passengers safely and comfortably to popular destinations throughout Hendersonville, Fletcher and Laurel Park with connections to the Asheville Regional Airport and ART (Asheville Ridest Transit) system. Route maps and schedules are available at the Visitor Center at 201 S. Main St. in Hendersonville or online at AppleCountryTransit.com. Rider fares are from $0.35 (for seniors and Medicare recipients) to $0.75 (for the regular fare). Transfer passes are free. Monthly bus passes for $15 and 20-ride ticket books for $10 can be purchased (using exact change only) from drivers or by visiting WNCSource Transportation offices at 526 Seventh Ave. East in Hendersonville. In addition to operating the public transit system for Henderson County, WNCSource offers free transportation to elderly, disabled and rural neighbors. Services include transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, grocery shopping and retail centers, congregate meal programs, ADA Paratransit and other destinations throughout the county (based on availability).
